Aliko Dangote’s (Peugeot Automobiles Nigeria Ltd) operation in Nigeria

The Aliko Dangote's auto company (Peugeot Automobiles Nigeria Ltd) is rolling out the Land Trek, 3008, 5008, and the new 508 models with an assembling capacity of 120 vehicles per day. This is a good development for the economy especially in the area of Job creation. Nigeria is a very big market that can accommodate more automobile manufacturing and assembling companies. But we have a big issue in our hands. Some people are not happy about this development especially from the south east. Their argument is that Dangote came on board to finish with INNOSSON what he started with GTB. Is Dangote connected to that case? I read comments and I am bewildered with what is coming out of people's mouth. These guys all wrote in very good English indicating that they were all well educated. But why this mindset? Why is their thinking that way? Since I was born, I have never seen anyone from my Local government drive INNOSSON viechle. I am very sure that not up to 20 people own any model of...

Anambara State And The Charles Chukwuma Soludo Template

The template Professor Chukwuma Soludo is bringing to the table in Anambara is fantastic if implementable. But it will definitely be a hard nut to crack. As a professor of Economics, Prof knows that there is a political angel to governance and not everyone is master in this regard. If you are a student of politics, you should be conversant with the word "Realpolitiks" It's German term meaning "the politics of reality." The term is used to describe tough and engaging power politics with no room for idealism or any form of moral or ideological considerations. Not many politicians are masters in this field. The question is; can Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo wriggle and flounder through the muddy waters of hardcore politics. Former Lagos state governor Ambode comes to mind. This interplay between the Political Ideal and Reality is the major reason why politicians and political parties fail to fulfil their campaign promises. Remember that politicians all over t...

2023 Igbo Presidency: When And How Not To Reward Political Rebellion.

Some time in July 2018, Mr. Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), said that 2019 will determine the future of the Igbo people and APC would support the region when the need arises. He called for their support in the reelection of President Buhari which they collectively rejected. Ohaneze and notable Igbo leaders issued statements that Igbos want restructuring, not presidency. It was called a propaganda and a scam and those who dare to believe the offer were referred as not being true sons of the soil. IPOB members said Biafra or death insisting that there will be no election in Biafra land and Nigeria will burn to ashes without a referendum. Most of us saw no wisdom in the total rejection of that offer. Getting a president of Igbo extraction won't be a bad idea for Nigeria. I personally believe that an Igbo president will help restore Nigeria lost glory to a very large extent. But the realities of today's permutation is a clear indication tha...

The Atiku/Obi ticket on the cross road.

There is a very strong indication that Peter Obi’s choice is causing very serious friction in the Southeast. Opinion and political leaders are yet to come to terms. I said it earlier and I am saying it again, Obi is a bad choice as his nomination just handed the presidency to APC on a platter of gold. As a PMB supporter, I am so excited about it. It is believed that Senator Ike Ekweremadu is particular not happy about Obi's choice. But that is their headache and not mine. As it is paining them, it's "sweeting" us.  In the North,  Obi is strongly viewed as anti-north and a major sponsor of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). The north are not smiling at all. We told them to calm down then with IPOB and Namdi Kalu madness and act with wisdom. IPOB have very serious points which are authentic and genuine, but method and approach was wrong. But they called us "Efulefu". There are serious implications for every wrong political move. It may hurt all of us p...

The Vilification of a Young Talent and the Foolishness of the Gospel.[VIDEO]

There is a video of a little boy mimicking a pastor with his little sister in a deliverance section that has gone viral in the last few days. Reactions from the vocal few who hate Christianity with passion was loaded with lots of negative criticism and that got me thinking. Is preaching the world of God an evil calling? The most disturbing aspect is that the people who are vilifying this little boy are Christians who profess Christ as their lord and personal savior. Over the time, the world has produced talents in different fields of human endeavor and preaching is definitely one of them. World changers don't just happen, they grow through a process and it's instructive to identify a child with a special talent and encourage it. That's how great societies are made. Below are my personal perception of the matter. Thomas Edison who invented the light bulb was a boy, his teachers told him he was too stupid to learn anything. Isaac Newton known today for his wo...

"Crass Ignorance" In Making Political Decisions in Africa.

The biggest problem among Africans and indeed Nigerians in making sound political decision is "Crass Ignorance" and lack of effort to learn. More than 90% of those who went to school are not truly educated. To be educated is not only about going to school. The truth is that you may be educated enough without seeing the walls of any educational institution. On the other hand, you can go to school, get school knowledge  and still be a liability to your immediate environment. According to Steve Denning, a Senior contributor to the Forbes Magazine; "Education is a demonstrated ability to listen carefully, to think critically, to evaluate facts rigorously, to reason analytically, to imagine creatively, to articulate interesting questions, to explore alternative viewpoints, to maintain intellectual curiosity and to speak and write persuasively" I see it also as the capacity to study your environment to be able to make an informed decision. It's a conscious effort a ...

NIGERIAN AIR; Why you must keep quiet.

The ancient Greek philosopher , Plato once observed that the rule of democracy is a stupid rule. He stood on the argument that democracy itself covers an ignorant multitude who are most often heard and in every indication makes important decisions. He may or may not be correct depending from which angle you view it. In the contemporary Africa democracies, one would ask what really determine the choices the greater number of the population make. According to Plato, democracy gives an opportunity for people to make important  decisions without being even aware about what they are deciding no matter how stupid such decisions are and being a democracy  therefore, the views and decision of many are accepted as right. This is the situation in Africa and Nigeria not being an exception. In Nigeria for instance, there are so much ignorance on rampage even among the educated who are either lazy to seek information or are indifferent to what happens around them. Our national political,...
