Ekiti Election; Small But Powerful Lesson for The South East.

One of the most interesting landmark of the outcome of Ekiti election is that the entire Yoruba states are now APC. Apart from easy victory for the President in 2019, they have once again demonstrated their mastery in the act of politics. Opposition is good for any democracy, but no politician embarks on the journey to deliberately play opposition. It's just a child of circumstance. The South East should think again and reconsider their hard stand which has never helped them and integrate themselves to the "national grid" towards actualizing the dreams of the region. We are talking of 2023 and they get so agitated when it's mentioned. They view it as a ploy to woo them for PMB's victory. But they seem to understand very little in the dynamics of Nigeria politics.
With South West comfortably secured, their vote may again never be needed. It breaks my heart to see that we behave in this manner, whatever is their reason, I do not know. However, I am optimistic that PMB will get more votes in the South East in 2019 more than what he received in 2014. In the event that PMB secured his victory (which is sure) in 2019, without the South East, It is most likely that Osibanjo will fly the flag in 2023 and nothing will stop him unless God says no. But why should God say no? The man is loyal to a fault, intelligent, smart, God fearing and well educated. With the understanding between the North and the West, he will surely cruise to victory.
They have used the notion of restructuring to juxtapose contradictory ideas for rejecting the presidency in 2023. The prefer restructuring to the presidency. A very illogical stand forgetting that it will be easy to negotiate restructuring from that position.
My humble advice to them is to key in and stop all those useless whatsapp lies and propaganda they broadcast daily. Someone in the caliber of Asuwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu should either be crowned or emerge to forge a common front for the region. The South East people are a people of great wisdom, industrious, extremely innovative and not lacking in sound intellectual sagacity. Without insulting the sensibility of other regions, they are the salt and cream of the Nigerian society. "Ha nwere ebu nwekwa nfu" (They have everything). Their political backwardness should not be tolerated any longer. No reasonable person will deny the fact that their is marginalization of dishonorable degree in that region, but there should be a more intelligent approach through politicking and negotiation to correct the imbalance. We will take up the challenge. We are working on something and God willing, we will restore the sanity of that region.

Anambara State And The Charles Chukwuma Soludo Template

The template Professor Chukwuma Soludo is bringing to the table in Anambara is fantastic if implementable. But it will definitely be a hard nut to crack. As a professor of Economics, Prof knows that there is a political angel to governance and not everyone is master in this regard. If you are a student of politics, you should be conversant with the word "Realpolitiks" It's German term meaning "the politics of reality." The term is used to describe tough and engaging power politics with no room for idealism or any form of moral or ideological considerations. Not many politicians are masters in this field. The question is; can Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo wriggle and flounder through the muddy waters of hardcore politics. Former Lagos state governor Ambode comes to mind. This interplay between the Political Ideal and Reality is the major reason why politicians and political parties fail to fulfil their campaign promises. Remember that politicians all over t...

Nigeria First World Cup Match in Russia, The Mocking of a Great Nation and Bitterness Taken Too Far.

Can't we have some moments of fun just like many other countries of the world? Is foolishness only resident in the Nigerian youths? Must we use every single thing to show bitterness, exhibit our youthful exuberance and then play politics to show how much we hate our nation or the person (s) at the helm of affairs. It's really getting too nasty for my liking. Nigeria is not the only nation that lost their first game in the ongoing World Cup in Russia and not the only country to have done so since the inception of the World Cup. Rejoicing and making merry that your country lost and insulting the person of your president is not only shameful, but despicable, contemptible, atrocious, disgusting, iniquitous, diabolical, criminal and politics of bitterness taken too far. Losing the first game of the tournament could be fatal, but not that it's over. In the past World Cups, many teams lost their opening games and still made it to the second round. I remember that Ghana in 2006,...

When China executed 26 of her corrupt officials.

China is world's leading executioner. No mercy. The history of the  death penalty in China, is deeply rooted, dating back thousands of years. Political philosopher Shang Yang (390-338 BCE) was among the founders of Chinese legalism, a classical school of thought, and known for advocating a stronger judicial system. China still practice it till today. Research by Amnesty International in 2010, 23 countries use death penalty for different crimes including the United states. People and nations have argued that the method is cruel and inhumane regardless of the crime committed. Here In Nigeria, many people are advocating death penalty for corrupt government officials for the pains they have inflicted on the masses. However, it should be noted at the same time that there is only one issue that can be used as a litmus test for humanism and that is the death penalty. Do you want this in Nigeria to check corruption and corrupt officials?
