Recently, some people started a campaign on social media and offered to award handsome prizes to anyone who can name any project started and completed by the Buhari administrations. It may seem difficult to name, but that challenge in itself is absolute stupidity and to think that people who went to school shared it is very disturbing in itself. It is common knowledge that this administration has been completing and commissioning abandoned projects by previous administrations.
We all quote that government is a continuum, but in practice, who has ever applied that principle in Nigeria. Nigerians should be very grateful that a responsible government disengaged from the normal practice of abandoning old projects and initiating new ones for the purpose of bragging that it was their idea. Most abandoned projects were avenues where billions were looted. But sorry to disappoint you, The Federal Government of Nigeria and President Muhammadu Buhari expressed very clear commitment to finish ongoing and abandoned projects. This should be highly appreciated by every reasonable and patriotic Nigerian.
While new projects are being initiated and undertaken all over the country, we must have a new mindset of doing things. There are thousands of abandoned projects littered all over the states and state governors are busy awarding new contracts. This practice must stop and that what makes PMB different from the others. As this present administration is setting new standards in government project continuity, 1 Corinthians 3:6 comes to mind. "I planted the seed and Apollos watered it, but God made it grow". It means that we should stop playing unnecessary politics with national development and give credit where it is due. Whether OBJ or GEJ started and PMB completed is awesome. At the end, it's the Nigeria people that benefits and everyone becomes the winner.
God bless Nigeria.
