Femi Fani Kayode in 2012 blamed Muammar Ghadaffi for the influx of jihadist and sophisticated arms into Nigeria. Now tell me the difference with Presidents Buhari's assertion and what FFK said about the same issue.
These are Femi Fani Kayode exact words:

"The destabilisation of north Africa and the opening of the door for Islamic insurgents in the north African Arab Sahel states and the west African sub-region.These are just some of Obama’s disastrous legacies and sadly the mistakes he has made in his foreign policy in north Africa particularly impacts on us directly in Nigeria and in west Africa. Let me give you just one example of that. Had it not been for the fall-out of the mess in Libya and the brutal way in which Muammar Ghadaffi, the Libyan leader, was murdered in cold blood one year ago, his Taureg friends and allies in north Africa would not have been inspired and driven to take over northern Mali and create a Taliban-style Islamic fundamentalist state there and northern Nigeria would not have been flooded with jihadist foot-soldiers and all manner of sophisticated arms and bombing devices for usage by Boko Haram"
Here's what Mr President told Archbishop Justin Welby:

"The problem is even older than us. It has always been there, but now made worse by the influx of armed gunmen from the Sahel region into different parts of the West African sub-region. These gunmen were trained and armed by Muammar Gadaffi of Libya. When he was killed, the gunmen escaped with their arms. We encountered some of them fighting with Boko Haram. Herdsmen that we used to know carried only sticks and maybe a cutlass to clear the way, but these ones now carry sophisticated weapons. The problem is not religious, but sociological and economic. But we are working on solutions."My earlier position:

It is very unfortunate that some individual and many political commentators have refused to embrace the truth hereby politicizing every action or statement of the government to mislead the gullible masses. President Muhammadu Buhari had said that the fall of Libya gave rise to Proliferation of arms in the region and as usual, haters and wailers turned it to mean putting blames on the door step of the Late libyan strongman, Muammar Gaddafi. President Muhammadu Buhari as far as truth is concern did not say anything new that is not in the public space. If you follow international politics, you will be in the know that his position is 100% correct. Immediately after the destruction of Libya, Fatima Muneer author at Oman Observer wrote an article "How Is the U.S. Dealing With the Arms Proliferation in Libya After the Revolution" It was an eye opener. She wrote " The aftermath of the Libyan civil war is causing a headache for the United States in an unexpected area — arms proliferation. Since the war ended in October, the U.S. has discovered a chilling amount of weapons lying around the country and now seeping into black markets frequented by terrorist groups" The United Nation has this to say " Weapons are spreading from Libya at an “alarming rate,” fueling conflicts in Mali, Syria and elsewhere and boosting the arsenals of extremists and criminals in the region, according to a U.N. report" It is common knowlegde that weapons from Libya were also being transported through southern Tunisia, southern Algeria and northern Niger to destinations such as Mali and Northern Nigeria for use by local groups. I really need to ask the following questions;

I really need to ask the following questions;
1. Where did Muhammadu Buhari go wrong?
2. Did he say anything new?
3. Did Mr. President not re-echo what international political observers has already warned of the consequences.
We have become so lazy even the so called intellectuals especially in the field of international politics. Truth has been sacrificed on the altar of partisan politics and that is very unfortunate. When you watch them on TV, you can't help but shake your head in utter disappointment. I am not surprised anyway because we are in a country where everybody is a political guru and analyst.
I think that Nigerians should start fearing God.
